# vlcrun


**vlcrun** is a very simple program that allows you to run a specific instance of vlc on your machine. It is especially useful when moving shortcuts created with <a target="_blank" href="http://mougino.free.fr/freeware/#vspf">VLC Shortcut Play Folder</a> from a machine to another: as shortcuts always take an absolute path, just make them point to **vlcrun** (e.g. using <a target="_blank" href="http://mougino.free.fr/freeware/#lnkb">LinkBatch</a> to mass-edit them), then simply edit your **vlcrun** .ini file on the new machine to target a different VLC instance and voila!

**vlcrun** can run on Linux via <a target="_blank" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_(software)">Wine</a>.
